Beautiful double falls set in a deep hardwood forest with
a combined vertical drop of about 100 feet. A 300 yard trail leads to the
falls. Rocks are deceptively slippery; please From the small parking lot on Helton Creek Road head to the right to find the trailhead. This trail descends quickly to a mountain cove. Then to the creek bed and the first falls are immediately visible. The first waterfall runs over a thirty foot ledge, cascading to the pool below the falls with a roar. Follow the trail around the right and up a embankment to the second falls. These are tall, full falls that drop at least fifty feet. Plan on combining the walk with another hike, as this is a short, easy walk. *Travel 13 miles south of Blairsville on US Hwy. 19/129, turn left onto Helton Creek Rd., 1.3 miles to a parking area on the right. |
